We Make The Difference
Here at ecotseco, we have a bit of, what some might say, a dark vision of what is ahead of us. Еcotseco was founded as a business supporting sustainability. This dark vision comes from…. well from a sum of scientific information, history and recent events.
I am talking about the calmness that most people seem to have. Calmness about that somehow everything is going to be fine, magically. It is in the developed part of the world that people believe that because they live in a state with a strong and powerful economy they will be looked after no matter what.
I wonder if the people from Puerto Rico after Maria, New Orleans after Katrina and most recently Wuhan after COVID-19 felt safe because of their powerful and developed countries. The ones that have the privilege of truly be feeling safe in these countries are the rich and powerful individuals. The rest of us might get thrown a bunch of paper towels by the same individuals so they can get a bit of populist publicity.
This behaviour by the rich and powerful shows us that we are on our own. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Well, it’s not great but we should use it as a wake-up call and start making changes ourselves, so we don’t have to rely on somebody else.
An overwhelming part of the scientific community tells us that human behaviour is changing the climate and soon these changes will be irreversible and fatal for humanity as we know it. We are those humans not just big corporations or governments. If we all start working towards a sustainable way of lives, reuse and use less in the first place there will be a future for those after us. Let's make it a bright one!
